1. Support Services Program
Epilepsy affects two percent of the general population and is the most common neurological disorder in Canada. It impacts people physically, emotionally and psychologically. This program includes individual and emotional support, monthly support groups and a “Taking Control of Your Wellness” skills development course to build positive coping strategies towards an improved quality of life. Emotional support will assist individuals in learning more about epilepsy, dealing with depression and anxiety and decreasing the tendency towards isolation. The skills development course will offer eleven sessions that examine the individual’s lifestyle and teach them how to be in control of their lives despite their seizure activity.
