Dr. Valerie Jaeger, United Way Campaign Chair 2010
The United Way of St. Catharines & District is delighted to announce that Dr. Valerie Jaeger has decided to serve as Chair, for the 2nd time, of its 2010 Campaign .
In 2008 she was the United Way Leadership Co-Chair with Sean Jackson for United Way. This campaign saw a 30% increase overall in leadership gifts, which now totals in excess of $750,000 (or 24% of the campaign total).
As a family physician with expertise in adolescent medicine and reproductive health, Dr. Jaeger has achieved many milestones in her commitment to her profession, community and family. Dr. Jaeger has been Medical Director of Niagara Region Sexual Health Clinics, Niagara College Health Service and is currently Medical Director of Brock University Student Health Services and Niagara Region Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Treatment Centre. In 2006 she was awarded Family Physician of the Year for the Southern Region, Ontario College of Family Physicians.
She has been a member of the Board of Trustees at Brock University for 11 years, and has served as Chair of Capital Projects as well as Vice Chair of the Board. Dr. Jaeger has also served as Chair of the Board of the Wheatley School and numerous Church Committees; including serving as a Lay Chaplain with the St. Catharines Unitarian Church
Dr. Jaeger lives in Niagara-on-the-Lake with her husband, Dr. Mike Petrocci, a Hospitalist ER Physician. They are proud of their children's numerous accomplishments; son Marc is a soloist with the Milwaukee Ballet, while daughter Alexandra attends UCLA Law School.
