Innovation Grants
To meet emerging community needs, United Way’s annual Innovation Fund allocates funds to new or creative projects, separate from United Way's three year funding stream.
Innovation is defined as programs that:
- do not duplicate existing services
- address existing or emerging community needs
- fall within the mandate of United Way
- That deliver clear benefits to recipients of service.
Innovative ideas may include:
1. Projects which promote collaboration with other non-profit organizations. This would include developing ways for groups to work together to address high priority community needs.
2. Projects to start or expand business ventures intended to stabilize and strengthen their ability to deliver their programs and services.
3. Projects addressing community needs or geographic areas that are currently under-served.
4. Projects that focus on mobilizing community volunteer resources.
