The partnership between United Way and Canadian Labour Congress dates back to 1978! More than 260 similar partnerships are in place throughout Canada and the United States.
The labour movement remains committed to the vision of a compassionate society. We look forward to working with United Way in meeting urgent human needs and maintaining our vision. Our contributions and volunteer time are essential to the success of United Way.
Workplace campaigns continue to be the major source of revenue for United Way. Increasing campaign totals show that our sense of mutual responsibility survives intact.
In 2009, two thirds of the total dollars raised in our campaign came from employees in the workplace!
I would like to thank all unionized workers who continue to recognize the importance of United Way in our community.
