  Where the Money Goes

Investing in the Community
United Way responds to the ever changing needs and growth in our community by looking for creative ways to bring people and resources together to improve the lives of those who need it most in our community.  Through fundraising and fund distribution, community partnerships, volunteerism and research, our local United Way plays a critical role in providing support to achieve four important priorities including;

•  Strengthening Children & Families
•  Building Communities
•  Nurturing Independence

Innovation Fund
Volunteers raise, assess and distribute dollars locally.  Program applicants participate in a rigorous review and approval process by trained volunteers.  Dollars raised in your community are invested locally, by local citizens, where it is needed most and where it can be most effective. Visit our
Agency Directory to see a list of funded programs.

For example, to meet these emerging needs, United Way established the "Innovation Fund".  The purpose of this fund is to provide financing for innovative projects on a short-term basis, separate from United Way's annual grants program.
