Scotiabank has been a longstanding supporter of United Way, but in 2009, their support has reached a notable milestone, culminating into a 15% total increase in their giving compared to last year.
In addition to sponsoring 5 Loaned Representatives over the last 5 years and running events like their annual Boolathon, Scotiabank also held their first ever branch wide Dress Down day. Employees from across the branches gave a toonie to dress down in support of United Way. Not only did employees make additional donations, but this support extended to customers who were also generous in their support.
Scotiabank employees extend their financial generosity into giving of their time, recognizing the impact one person can make. Many Scotiabank employees volunteer in different capacities with various charities and also, directly with United Way, from Campaign Cabinet member and the Women’s Leadership Council Steering Committee.
United Way congratulates Scotiabank for their exemplary community spirit and increasing support of their community through United Way.
