Niagara-on-the-Lake, despite complete confidence, came second to this year's challenge winners, the City of St. Catharines. Congratulations St. Catharines for not only accepting the challenge but for making your way to the top of the leader board. Enjoy this moment of victory because Niagara-on-the-Lake is coming for you next year!"

“We are very proud of this accomplishment and the campaign our staff ran this year” said Mayor Walter Sendzik. “A big thank you to our committee for their efforts and to all of the staff members who contributed. By supporting United Way, Team STC is helping the most vulnerable people in our community and building a stronger, more compassionate Niagara. Thank you to Lord Mayor Patrick Darte for initiating this challenge. There’s always next year, Pat.”

The challenge was all in the name of giving back to the community, with United Way benefiting from the friendly competition. “We were so excited when Lord Mayor Darte suggested this challenge and are thrilled with the results. It has been really inspiring to see the municipalities rally their employees to support United Way. Thank you so much to everyone who participated, and special thanks to Lord Mayor Darte for launching this challenge. Congratulations to Mayor Sendzik and his team for their win” said Frances Hallworth, United Way of St. Catharines & District Executive Director.
