The purpose of this position is to assist the Campaign Associate with the execution of the United Way Golf Tournament, preparation of campaign and marketing materials, as well as other duties as required.

POSITION TITLE: Special Events/Campaign Assistant

REPORTS TO:Campaign Associate & Campaign Manager

TYPE OF POSITION: June – August, Requires Flexible Hours and possible weekend hours

POSTING CLOSES: Wednesday May 23, 2018

Key Responsibilities:

•Data entry and support to Finance Department

•Database updates and maintenance

•Assist with the promotion of fundraising events through social media

•Assist with event and campaign mailers

•Assist with communication materials for events and campaign

•Solicit sponsorship from local businesses

•Provide hands-on support during events

•Other duties as required

Qualifications:

•Between 18 and 30 years of age at the start of employment

•Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident

•University or college student studying Fundraising, Business Administration, Event Management, Business or a related discipline

•Full-time student in 2017-2018 and a returning full-time student in 2018-2019

•Computer literate in all Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Office and Powerpoint

oExperience with Adobe programs such as InDesign and PhotoShop is considered an asset

•1-2 years demonstrated customer service experience is an asset

•Strong organizational skills, interpersonal and team skills, communications and computer skills

•Experience in event planning, communications, and marketing for a not-for-profit organization is an asset

•Access to a vehicle

•Ability to work a flexible schedule of daytime, evenings and weekends
